" Had complete brake failure. Was able to get the truck stopped. Saw it was 2 pints low on fluid. Added fluid, drove towards my auto shop, had to stop to fill the brake fluid again (the light went on this time). Did this a few times. Just before I got to the stop, the truck blew out some smoke, chugged, and the motor seized up. Towed the truck to the shop, they found out the master cylinder leaked and the vacuum lines sucked the brake fluid out of the master cylinder and dumped it into the cylinders in the motor and this blew my motor. I hear there is a recall for this on 2014 F-150S but not on the 2011. Terrible design. A brake problem should not blow up my motor." – Aug 11, 2018

Whereas regulating headlights or bumper height or hood ornaments has a large component of protecting others.
In 2012, about 15,000 miles ago, the previous owner dropped a staggering $2,300 on the following jobs:
It’s difficult to offer a cost differential between a typical 700R4 and 4L60E overdrive transmission because there are so many variables that will directly affect the end game. The controllers alone vary from $650 to over $1,400. We priced comparable 700R4 and 4L60E transmissions from Hughes Performance for example, and the price difference on just the transmission was only $100 ($1,834 vs. $1,934 through Summit Racing), so based on that, the 4L60E could run an additional $1,000 to $1,200 more depending upon the component choices.
However, all 2019 Colorado models feature a Rear Vision Camera (in either standard of high definition) as standard equipment, regardless of trim level.
I like backup cameras and safety features that stay in the background, but the beep/flashing stuff I don’t see the appeal of.
Regarding airbags, I wish that rather than mandating airbags, the gov’t had mandated protection standards and let the engineers figure out how to meet those. I might rather have more protective seat belt systems than airbags.
Long charging times are still a major roadblock for electric cars, but Delta Electronics wants to change that. The company plans to test a new system that can add 180 miles of range to an electric car in just 10 minutes. General Motors is a backer of the project.
Several companies like B&M and TCI offer kits to do so, but it is a trial-and-error effort and requires the pressed-in governor cover to be removed each time to access the governor. Expect to spend half a day or more on this process.
Finn, a “roadie” who says his work as a production manager in the entertainment industry has made him quite familiar with electrical systems, believes his modifications couldn’t possibly have affected the airbag system, calling GM’s alleged suggestion that they did “lies” and “bullshit.”
I’ve also seen one with the flat plane of the chip perpendicular to the stem, not edge-mounted like the one in the photo.
