A: We have never heard this. In our opinion, E85 burns cleaner and is less likely to contaminate the oil than E10 or pure gasoline. Besides, your engine was built to accept E85 fuel. You didn’t provide the make or year of your car, but your vehicle probably has a maintenance reminder system. Change the oil when it tells you to do so. Consult your owner’s manual.
I’ll add this to my poor vehicle design category. There are a decent amount of vehicles that you can adjust the mirror to eliminate blind spots. Unfortunately i don’t think this is so much the case with most new cars anymore. Small mirrors, high beltlines, and slivers for windows are creating stupid-large blind spots. It would be great to make vehicles with outward visibility as opposed to some systems to correct for the lack of it.
This was three years and about 7,000 miles after a power steering hose had apparently sprung a leak, and a mechanic had warned that the lack of power steering fluid may have damaged the pump. He or she was apparently right:
The cost thing is spot on as well, and compounds my annoyance. These “features” that I don’t want or need in the first place are also prone to failure and cost a lot of money to fix.
And though there are some components whose health you can easily check (for example, a compression test can be a good indicator of engine health), service records are the most useful bits of information to determine how a car has been cared for over time. Plus, they can help you out when diagnosing a fault. Knowing when certain components were replaced is a godsend.
Then I just loosened the nipple and pumped the pedal while keeping the fluid level in the reservoir from dropping too low. Once all the air came out of the system, I tightened the slave cylinder nipple back up, and I was all set.
One that comes to mind is how Ford was forced to fix most (but not all) of the 2011-14 F-150′s for brake failures but only after the feds raided the joint and twisted their arm. Ford kept on using the same defective components on the 2015 and newer F-150′s and the problem continues to happen. I guess they’re waiting for the feds to force them to fix it like last time?
I find these gizmos annoying for a somewhat contrary reason. I’m a very safe driver who gets frustrated with people who can’t seem to signal when turning/changing lanes, or dart from lane to lane without a blindspot check. It’s annoying to me that I would have to have all these systems on my new vehicle because of the unsafe driving characteristics of other motorists.
‘DIESEL’ is one of the leading European trade magazines for this sector and has been reporting for 22 years on the development and manufacture of diesel engines and their applications. This TCD 9.0 was also included by the trade magazine ‘OEM Off-Highway’ in its ‘Top Ten New Products of 2017.’
Regarding safety devices there are many that I believe should be (and in some cases are mandatory): ABS, stability control/traction control, seatbelts, air bags, active head restraints, emergency braking, blind spot warning, Bluetooth. Some that I am not sure of such as lane departure. And some that I believe are largely unnecessary such as back up cameras. Yet there seem to be more defenders of back-up cameras than of the other more significant devices?
SHARP-TURNING BIKES: The Suzuki RM-Z450 and Honda CRF450 are chassis that give to get. With their rigid aluminum frames and corner-specific geometry, the CRF450 and RM-Z are Supercross-specific frames. They are at their best on the entrance of tight turns. The downside of building a sharp-handling chassis is that the bike can feel loose on exit, very busy on fast straights and shake its head in the rough. If you push the CRF450 in too deep, you to have to fight the understeer to keep it biting on exit.
However, the first electric diggers are already being developed for use close to people, underground, in food production environments and near hospitals. JCB has developed the first electric mini excavator for such uses.
