Speaking of steering, my power steering pump got replaced in 2009, and “bulk hose” was used for the return line.
Despite the goodies the Syclone came with some issues which included the frequent failure of the fuel pump that would cause the engine to stall and not start.
The new engine also includes cylinder deactivation on two cylinders, dynamic cam timing, and cam profile changes based on power needs. Both camshafts are two-piece units that offer each valve two or three different lift profiles for high-power, low-power, and deactivation capability. Chevy brought back the old âTri Powerâ name for the new system, which should please vintage enthusiasts.

NEUTRAL NO-FUSS CHASSIS: The KTM 450SXF and Husqvarna FC450 are the only chromoly frames in the 450 class. For 2019, their torsional rigidity was increased by 10 percent. Fast riders thought the 2019 Austrian bikes were more accurate, while Vet riders preferred the previous year’s more resilient frame. The KTM/Husky frame is very balanced. It doesn’t deliver a lot of unnecessary movement, fore/aft teeter-totter or chassis twist under acceleration. It is nicely balanced and needs no body English to make things happen. It does it all. It can turn, and it’s accurate in the rough and super stable at speed. Not exciting but businesslike.
My Ford actually has those little blind spot mirrors embedded in the mirrors, which are great. But they seemed to be designed to only work when the mirrors are pointed at the fenders, i.e., the wrong way that everyone learns to use.
The clutch system in a manual transmission is one of those components that doesn’t necessarily see much innovation. Every once in a while a manufacturer will do something big and wild with it, but it’s rare. Last time it was Porsche with the tiny carbon clutch in the Carrera GT – and now it might be General Motors with an electrically actuated slave cylinder, covered in a recently filed patent application.
Pumping the brakes was never the correct answer. No human can pump fast enough to make that an effective way to stop or slow. Threshold braking was the answer (and still is on non-ABS cars, or on vehicles where the ABS system is malfunctioning).
The trailering package, with an included app, has all sorts of functionality. You can add a custom profile for each trailer; perform a lighting test as you inspect the vehicle from outside as part of the included Pre-Departure Checklist; hardwire a camera to the back—as well as see down the sides of the trailer, and use the aforementioned birds-eye view—and check the trailer tire pressure. (Considering the many available camera angles, it raised the question as to why the front view disappeared when a rear camera was added; the answer was short and sheepish: because the truck was made with only four available camera inputs, instead of five.) You’ll also receive an alert on your smartphone if someone’s tampering with the vehicle or trailer.
As such, I do agree with most of these safety items, though I’m not pleased with the increased price of vehicles as a result.

If a human uses records to stay healthy, then surely a car should too. Especially if that car is something as magical as a five-speed 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo.
