I have a 2014 that has rear & front parking sensors, as well as lane departure warning. They are awful. Basically anytime I hit the turn signal, beeeeeeeeeeep. The car in the next lane can be 4 cars lengths back, but I still get a ding. I put it in reverse, beeeeeeepp. To let me know there are cars driving on the road 40 feet past the parking lot I’m in.

Some of us may be luddites. Most of us are not. I’ve always been an early adaptor. But this stuff is just plain intrusive. That word seems to apply to a lot of technology these days. Being able to stop is a very important thing to be able to do when driving but some Chevy pickup trucks were having trouble doing that. Pickup trucks with braking problems are the 1999-2001, 2003-2008 Chevy Avalanche, and Silverado. According to Consumer Affairs, more than 200 hundred accidents were reported when the Anti-lock braking system did not work correctly during low-speed impacts. The salt belt states include New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Maryland, New Hampshire, West Virginia, Washington DC, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Maine, Minnesota, Vermont, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. This is where the roads are salted during winter months.

GMC’s AT4 Sierra—for "All Terrain 4"—comes with a factory-installed two-inch lift kit and more off-road oriented tires. If you’re familiar with Chevy’s "Trail Boss" package, you’re looking at the same thing here. Any trim level Sierra, including the Denali’s, can be ordered with the lift kit from the factory.

1. Power placement. The Suzuki power is perfectly placed in the meat of the powerband. It may not be very powerful but it is usable.2. Ergos. The layout is sleek, albeit tall, top-heavy, rigid and tippy.3. Tires. Suzuki spec’ed Bridgestone X30s front and rear. We would prefer an X30 front mated to an X40 rear.4. Maps. Just run the stock map; it’s better than Suzuki’s aggressive and mellow maps.5. Suspension. The forks and the BFRC rear shock work more in unison than they did last year. Thanks to a softer and shorter shock spring, the rear of the RM-Z450 doesn’t wallow as much as the 2018 RM-Z450.6. Price. At $8940, the 2019 RM-Z450 has the lowest MSRP of any 2019 450. It is $350 cheaper than the Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha.

Especially in a tight parking lot, surrounded by tall crossovers and trucks. My VW actually has a wide enough rear camera angle that I can creep back and see if anything is coming with the camera, before I commit to fully backing out ( and I still look). But our 17 Sienna with cross-path detection mostly shows the license plate.

Don’t forget that lap belts are as deadly in a frontal collision as being unbelted, just with a higher likelihood of a spinal injury than being unbelted. They were another stage of early ‘safety’ legislation. Now people who farm out their thinking to the government are smart though.
