Chevrolet has performed a major redesign on the Silverado for 2019, and it has been rolling it out in stages. We drove the new 2.7-liter turbo and 5.3-liter engines in a test mule a couple months ago, and we recently got to spend time with the actual production versions of the new Silverado.

The YZ450F shock has new damping and a stiffer shock spring. We thought the stock spring would be too stiff for light riders, but it was an improvement for all size riders. Riders from 140 pounds to over 210 pounds can find their sweet spot in stock trim. 

The CRF450 rear shock is very touchy to set up. We set race sag from 106mm to 110mm on the CRF. Then, we slid the forks down into  the clamps to balance out the chassis. Please note: any change to the shock seriously affects the forks.

If you want to have the buzzing seat and eye monitoring system to watch for drowsy drivers, i could get on board with that. That is something that actually makes sense to me. But regular lane assist? Again, i pay attention to driving. Last i checked, staying in a lane isn’t terribly difficult. And the few situations where lanes might be questionable are the exact situations where lane assist doesn’t work. So what’s the point?
