Though the GMC engineers would be loathe to consider it (the pride they all take in this truck was obvious) from a buyer’s perspective the GMC Sierra is already a sort of upmarket trim level from the Silverado—making the popular Denali option a trim-within-a-trim. Why not make the Sierra a tech-focused trim option, and Denali a luxury package, and let the big spenders tick both boxes?

A fuel cell comprises an anode, a cathode and an electrolyte membrane and functions by hydrogen being passed through the anode and oxygen through the cathode. Hydrogen molecules are split at the anode into electrons and protons, with the protons passing through the electrolyte membrane and electrons being forced through a circuit, generating a current and excess heat. Protons, electrons and oxygen combine at the cathode to produce water molecules. The technology allows hydrogen to be directly converted to power with zero emissions.
Long charging times are still a major roadblock for electric cars, but Delta Electronics wants to change that. The company plans to test a new system that can add 180 miles of range to an electric car in just 10 minutes. General Motors is a backer of the project.

In addition to the two new engines, 4.3-liter V6 and 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s carry over from the previous-generation Silverado. The V6 is rated at 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque, while the 5.3-liter V8 is rated at 355 hp and 383 lb-ft. Both get six-speed automatic transmissions. The 6.2-liter V8 produces 420 hp and 460 lb-ft, and comes with a 10-speed automatic.
According to Automotive Fleet, GM/ Chevy informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that there was Base radio default in their pickup trucks. The base radio gives off warnings if the key is left in the ignition or if seat belts aren’t clipped on properly. It also warns you if the doors are left open. Without the base radio working correctly it would cause the trucks not to be in compliance with motor vehicle safety standards. The alert can prevent needless injuries, and theft of the vehicle in case a driver or a passenger forgets. Pickup trucks affected are the 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 and the 2005 Silverado HD. There were no deaths or injuries reported due to this defect but Chevy took it seriously and fixed it of no charge to the customers.
